Happy New Year

Happy New Year!

All is well at our house.
We hope you, too, are enjoying the holidays.

Peace is a word that is used over and over during the holidays . . . Peace on Earth.

The murder, assassination of Benizer Bhouto shattered those optimistic thoughts.
As we will see, this was a traumatic event, though not totally unexpected.

The day she returned to Pakistan, her supporters worried.

Anyway...more on that later.

Our Christmas gift was a week with our son, Christopher.
And we filled it up -
Two Cavs games,
a round of golf December 26th at Skyland Pines;
that course is in great shape,
and many gatherings with Family and Friends.

Now, if the Colts would have just come through for us >>>>

That's all for now.

Caribbean Cruise 2007

pcook@whbc.com

It's hard to believe we are home already from our Caribbean cruise.  It seems like we planned and planned, packed and packed and now it is over in a flash.

It was a fabulous experience.

I'd like to share a few of my thoughts....I love moving from port to port.

You wake up each morning with a difference scene out your cabin door.

This was our 5th cruise and the caribbean water never ceases to amaze me.
It is the bluest water you will ever see.  The food was great, the weather was great
and the casino, was, well, fun but uneventful!

If you ever have a chance to sail on a Royal Caribbean ship that has the grand promenade - do it!
It was awesome.  I could have stayed in the cafe all day just watching folks, listening to music,
and talking with others from all over the world.

We had some rough seas but we all made it through.
It took a day away at the pool but there are so many other activities indoors we had no problem staying busy.

I will say, though, that the best part of the cruise was the group we took along.
It was one of the best groups ever!  We had so much fun.

Hats off to Steve Karapasha at the Canton AAA for treating us like gold.

Travelling with a group is so great because there are so many perks
and you always have someone to turn to for help.

We are hoping to do this again next year.

It'll be the Western Caribbean on the brand new Ruby Princess of the Princess cruise line.
If you'd like to go, contact Steve at the AAA.  It's time to butter up the boss!

Have a great holiday!

When to report and when to just sit on a story

morningteam@whbc.com

When to report and when to just sit on a story

The Omaha shooter wanted to go out with his photo on front pages around the world.

He got his wish.

This morning several internet sites allow you to listen to the horrific 9-1-1 call from the mall.
He killed 8 people.  Total strangers.

He must have concluded that because his life seemed to be in shambles,
he would inflict revenge on society.

Several listeners have suggested the media promotes this madness
by giving them the attention they want.  Well, there is some truth in that,
but I doubt you'll ever convince a good reporter to turn their back on such a story.

Others have complained about terrible parents,
and a need to return to the rules we lived by years ago.

I wish I had the answer, but I welcome your thoughts.

We're off for the sun and fun of a caribbean cruise.

Wish you could come along!

The Cruise

pcook@whbc.com

The Cruise

Oh, how appropriate it is that we got our first snowfall of the season
just days before Fred and I are to head off to the Caribbean.

I really don't mean to rub it in, but we are very excited
about the prospect of getting away from the cold and snow.
I hope the 100 or so listeners who chose to travel with us
are as excited as we are.

This is always so much fun
and they get the inside scoop on the Morning Team....

Do Fred's legs really look like chicken legs?

Will Pam ever see the sun if the Casino is open?

How many cases of self-tanner will Fred go through?

Can Pam stand it that she won't see the Steelers take on the mighty Patriots?

I hope that all next week (December 10th - December 15th)
you will tune in to hear what Fred and I are up to...
it's bound to make you smile!

Bon Voyage!!!!
